Hey everyone! I'm reviewing my first MAC Paint Pot today, the shade Painterly. Read on to know more about the much raved-about MAC Paint Pots.
About M.A.C. Paint Pot- Painterly: A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners.

Packaging: M.A.C. Paint Pot- Painterly comes packed in the standard MAC packaging, a black, square cardboard box, with white print. Inside, the product comes in a transparent, round glass pot, with a matte black screw-on lid. The pot itself is quite bulky, I feel, and it may break if dropped.
Ingredients: Please refer to the below pic:
My take on M.A.C. Paint Pot- Painterly: Painterly is a light beige coloured creamy eyeshadow, with a pink undertone. There are no shimmer or glitter particles. The texture is smooth. The pigmentation is good, and it covers lid pigmentation too.
The product needs to be scooped out from the paint pot manually, so that raises a hygieneconcern, though I make sure I always use a q-tip to pick up the shadow from the pot. After application, the paint pot sets on the skin within 4-5 seconds, so all the blending needs to be done very quickly. It sets to a powder finish, and hence it may not look flattering on aged skin. If worn alone, the eyelids may look too dry. Once set, it does not budge from its place. I have tested it for 10 hours at a go, and it did not fail me. There's no creasing too. Painterly increases the wear time and vibrancy of any powder eyeshadows that are applied over it, and hence is a very good base for other shadows. No doubt, these are one of the best available eyeshadow bases/ primers in the market. It didn't cause any irritation on my skin whatsoever.

Personally, I feel painterly is a tad too milky for the regular olive skin tones found in our country, but still it isn't something we can't carry, just that I would prefer something which complements our skin tone better. So if you're looking for a light base for eyeshadows, pick Painterly up without any doubts, else you can pick some other MAC Paint Pot.
Below I have swatches 2 eyeshadows from the VOV 98-in-1 palette, with and without Painterly. We can clearly see the increase in intensity and vibrancy of the eyeshadows with painterly as a primer/ base.
